Your Vulva is NOT Your Vagina!

✨🚨YOUR VULVA IS NOT YOUR VAGINA!🚨✨ (|)πŸ’• Your vulva is the woman’s external genitals you can see. This consists of the clitoris, labia minora, labia majora, mons pubis, prepuce, perineum, urethral opening, and the OPENING of the vagina. The vagina is actually the hole that a babyπŸ‘Ά would come out of, or a penis would enter into. The vagina πŸ•³ is actually internal like a hallway from the outside that leads into the uterus and cervix. I was neverπŸ™…πŸ»‍♀️ taught the proper terms of my body in school. πŸ‘©‍🏫 My family and friends always called their external genitals their vagina as well‼️ I did not know what a vulva was until I was told I had VIN/Precancer! I remember asking my doctor, vulva what!?!? I felt lied to, and confused. πŸ™‡πŸ»‍♀️ You mean I’ve been calling this my vagina all along and it’s not even the right term!? When I tell others about my disease, they do not even know what a vulva is, and often ask if I mean the uvula in the throat!πŸ‘„πŸ˜€ It is important that we use the proper terms so others know where to look and take care of their life & health!πŸ’ƒπŸ» It is also important that we use the proper terms so that we can effectively explain what we’re going through to our doctors, and possibly promote more research for this seemingly mysterious area.πŸ•΅️‍♀️ It starts with us!  ✨🚨Hopefully one day everyone will know YOUR VULVA IS NOT YOUR VAGINA!!!🚨✨Be vulvastrong, and encourage a friend to perform her vulvar self exam today!!!! πŸ’ͺ🏻(|)πŸ’•✨
